2012 PokerStars TCOOP Guide

PokerStars has already begun releasing great new promotions for 2012 and PokerStars also announced a new tournament series that will be called the Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP). The inaugural PokerStars TCOOP is scheduled to take place from January 19th – January 29th 2012, which means you have about two weeks still until the series begins. PokerStars has already guaranteed that there will be a minimum of $10M guaranteed in prize pools throughout the 50 events.

The events will feature several different poker games although most of the events will be Texas Holdem. Every tournament will also use a turbo format ranging from basic turbo tournaments to hyper-turbo tournaments. I know that some poker players don’t like playing in the hyper-turbo tournaments because there is less skill involved and more luck. Make sure you find out what format the tournament will be played in before registering to avoid playing in a tournament that you don’t want to play in.

2012 PokerStars TCOOP Schedule

There are going to be 50 tournaments played during the PokerStars TCOOP. PokerStars has the full schedule of tournaments listed on their site including the starting time, game, format, buy-in and prize pool. We’ve listed a few of the highlight tournaments below that you definitely don’t want to miss out on, but you should look over the full schedule at PokerStars within the next two weeks. I like the fact that PokerStars TCOOP will have buy-ins for every level of poker, as the buy-ins will range from $11 – $2100.

• Event #49 – $700 NL Holdem Main Event with a $1.5M Guaranteed Prize Pool
• Event #46 – $215 NL Holdem with a $750K Guaranteed Prize Pool
• Event #47 – $2100 NL Holdem High Roller Event with a $500K Guaranteed Prize Pool
• Event #19 – $215 Sunday Supersonic Hyper-Turbo Event with a $300K Guaranteed Prize Pool
• Event #1 – $22 NL Holdem 6-Max with a $200K Guaranteed Prize Pool

How to Qualify for PokerStars TCOOP Tournaments

PokerStars are currently running dozens of satellites tournaments everyday to the 2012 PokerStars TCOOP Events. You can win seats into many of the major TCOOP tournaments right now. You can view all of the PokerStars TCOOP satellites on their site or by signing into your PokerStars account and looking under the TCOOP Satellites tab in the lobby. You can enter satellites with cash or FPP’s and it’ll save you a lot of money, as the best TCOOP tournaments have big buy-ins.

If you’re a SilverStar VIP member or higher at PokerStars you can currently purchase seats into the 2012 PokerStars TCOOP Events with your FPP’s. PokerStars has been offering on discounts on tickets to the TCOOP events in the VIP Store and the higher level VIP you are at PokerStars the cheaper you’ll be able to purchase seats. This is probably the best way to buy seats into the tournaments that you want to play if you have enough FPP’s laying around in your account.
