Omaha Poker Rules
If you have mastered the simplest online poker game, which is known as the Texas Holdem Poker and would want to move on to a higher level of poker playing, you might want to check out the Omaha Poker. In this type of poker game, a player is given the chance to have multiple types of hands from his own hole cards and with the community cards on the table.
In Omaha poker, a post is done before the cards have been dealt to the players. The two players to left of the dealer places a predetermined amount of bet so that everyone is assured that they are indeed playing for something in every hand. This initial bet is the post. The first blind is where the player to left of dealer places a bet of an amount half of the minimum bet and the second blind where the full amount of the minimum bet is placed.
After the post, the dealer would then shuffle the standard deck of the 52 cards and would give the players four cards each face down. This is one of the key differences of Texas Holdem Poker and Omaha Poker because only two cards are dealt to each player after the posting in Texas Holdem Poker. The four cards are called the hole cards of the players. The player left of the two who did the posting of blinds would then begin the betting round. The players can call, raise or fold.
After betting is done, the dealer would then remove top card of deck in order to help and ensure that there is no cheating in the game. The dealer would then flip three cards on table, they are called as flop. After the dealer has flipped the three cards, another round of betting would then begin started by the player left of dealer. As in any poker games, each player can call, fold or rise during this round of betting and other future rounds of betting.
After betting, another card is then removed and another card is flipped. The flipped card is known as the turn or the fourth street. The player left of dealer would then start one more round of the betting. When the betting ends, the dealer would then remove or burn another card and flips another card. This is the final card that would be placed on table and is known as the fifth street.
Each of the flipped cards which are placed on table is called as community cards. Each player can use three of the five community cards and two cards from their four hole cards so they can form the best five-poker hand that they possibly can. The fourth round of the betting, which is the last round, would then begin, to be started again by the player left of dealer. The players that have not folded would then show their hands. The player that has the best hand will win.
