What’s your favorite online casino?

As much as I prefer to play poker in real casinos, I definitely spend time playing online, as well. When you get the itch, convenience rules, and check raising in your boxers is about as convenient as it gets. So what are the best sites out there? And what would the criteria even be for deciding?

Everyone knows the big ones, full tilt especially. I’ve played Full Tilt a few times over the years, but it’s honestly not one of my favorites. And while many, many other players cry foul of the site altogether, you can just count me in the crowd that dislikes the site because of the type of players it attracts. New players gravitate to the big names, if for no other reason than to say they’re playing at Full Tilt. I know, we’re all new players at some point. But like the 90-year-old in traffic, I don’t mind if new players exist, so long as they try not to exist around me unless we’re in a lesson.

Poker Stars and Ultimate Bet are a couple other big hitters out there that seem to draw the most traffic. Poker Stars is better than Full Tilt in terms of decent games, but it’s a little more glitchy in terms of software. Others claim it also rewards bad play, which keeps many of the regulars away.

Enough with the complaining, here’s a good diamond in the rough for you to try. Cake Poker. Not only does it offer a very favorable 33% rakeback, but I’ve always been able to find reliable games of players that know how to play. It eliminates much of the drama so you can actually enjoy the time playing, even if you’re not playing just to have fun. You can play lower stakes and get through a few hours feeling like you’ve actually done something – improve your game, make a few bucks, etc…
