Paddy Power Poker offers Tiger Woods a $75 Million Sponsorship
March 8th, 2010
It was recently reported by TMZ, a gossip site, that Tiger Woods was offered a $75 million sponsorship offer from Paddy Power an online poker, casino and sportsbook. TMZ reported that Tiger Woods turned down the offer from the poker room.
It was reported that Paddy Power approached Tiger Woods to try and sign him with an offer they thought he would not refuse. TMZ commented: “Tiger Woods just blew off a $75 million endorsement offer from an Irish gambling company—and that is how you know you’re rich.”
TMZ reported that the offer was to last for five years but Woods declined the proposal despite the long term conditions. Woods has been a constant face in the media for the past few months and signing him would have helped Paddy Power Poker get even more recognition than they already do.
Everyone knows why Tiger Woods has been in the media lately and if you do not you must have been hiding under a rock somewhere. Toward the end of 2009 Woods was caught in a string of infidelities which led to an argument with his wife Elin Nordegren. The story has continued to escalate as more women are coming out of the wood work claiming they have been with Tiger.
Because of the scandal, Woods has lost many of his sponsors so Paddy Power Poker must have thought they could step in. despite Woods declining the deal, Paddy Power is supposedly going to approach him again in the near future with an even better deal, according to TMZ. Though I’m not sure how much better a deal can get than $75 million for a five year sponsorship!
