February 22nd, 2010 Poker Articles

Absolute Poker is considered one of the best online poker sites available online today. The site has gained momentum since joining the CEREUS network with UltimateBet. The online poker room offers a $100k guaranteed tournament each weekend and this past weekend the tournament saw a large increase in prize pool totals.

The tournament has a buy-in of $500 plus 30 and 326 players registered for the event. This amount of players increased the prize pool by $63,000 which made the total prize pool $163,000. The tournament paid out to the top 36 players and first place earned just over $40,000.

Players can pay the $500 plus 30 buy-in to compete or they can earn their seat via satellites which many players choose to do. Satellites take place during the week and start at just $1 so players can afford to compete for a seat in the weekend guaranteed tournament. The tournament starts at 2pm and players are given 3,000 in tournament chips to begin the competition.

During this tournament, it was online players RDCRSN and MARIA NUCCIA made it to heads up play. The two players had to get past many opponents to make it to heads up play and they played hard to get there.

Both would exchange chip leads for quite a while until RDCRSN would gain the lead for the final time. Both would go all in on the hand but it would be RDCRSN who would hold the cards and take down the first place win.

Final Results:
RDCRSN – $40,750
MARIA NUCCIA – $24,695
JADEDJASON – $17,115
