Online poker rooms like to host special tournaments and events that go along with what is happening in the world. The Winter Olympics are hot right now so many online poker rooms are setting up events and tournaments to coincide with the Olympic events. One of these poker rooms is Carbon Poker.
The whole month of February is decided to the Winter Olympics at Carbon Poker. The online poker room will be hosting a range of events in different gaming categories with two separate leader boards. Both will reward players with cash and prizes.
One leader board is called the Olympic Alpine Poker Championship and it will be giving players up to $12,500 in cash and prizes. The second leader board is called the 2010 Olympic Nordic Combined Championship and it will give players a slight increase in prizes than the first category. This tournament series will offer up to $15,000 in cash and prizes.
To climb the $15,000 leader board, players must compete in real money ring games, SNG’s and MTT’s to earn VIP Points. The more points you have the higher up you are on the leader board. Finish in the top 100 players and you will earn a piece of the prize pool.
The $12,500 leader board is a host of several Olympic tournaments which will run three times a day. Each tournament will have a guaranteed prize pool and the top five players of each tournament will earn an entry into the Alpine Championship Grand Final ‘Tournament of Champions’. Players finishing status in the various tournaments also determines their chip stack so the more you win the more you will have in the final. The buy-ins for these tournaments range from $2 to $109.
