Tom Dwan Earns More Cash at Full Tilt Tables

Tom Dwan and Patrik Antonius took advantage of a quiet night at Full Tilt Poker to get in yet another session of their Challenge. In this round Dwan would be the one to earn some cash and now extend his lead to $937,000 in the Challenge.

Full Tilt PokerThe Dwan Challenge was announced by Dwan and up for anyone to take on. Of course Antonius accepted the challenge. Both players have to play 50,000 hands with stakes of at least $200/$400. A minimum of four tables should be going at the same time. If Dwan is ahead at the end of the Challenge then the opponent must pay him $500,000. If Dwan is losing then he would have to pay the challenger $1.5 million.

Antonius and Dwan began their challenge back in February and on the 22nd of December they played yet another session. When the latest session was completed, the Challenge is now 60% completed. Dwan’s lead has now been extended by $171,000.

On the 22nd, both players played 1,991 hands and it took around seven hours. Both managed to stay pretty event until Dwan took down a large pot worth $240,000. During the hand Antonius had $119,000 and was dealt KdQcJs9s and Dwan had $230,000 and held Jd10s9h8s. both went back and forth raising until Antonius went all in and Dwan got a straight on the river which gave him the large pot.

Although Antonius took a hit in this latest session, 2009 has been a great year for the poker player. He is up around $9 million for the year and things are still looking good for the short time left in this year.
