 Event #19 of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series XIV finished up recently and Greg Mueller was able to outlast the field to take the event win. Mueller is a two time WSOP bracelet winner so it is no surprise to hear that he has one a FTOPS event.
Event #19 was a Six-Max Limit Hold’em tournament with a buy-in of $200 plus $16. The tournament saw 845 players competing which increased the guaranteed prize pool from $150,000 to $169,000. Surprisingly Mueller was hosting the event and managed to earn the win as well.
Mueller is not the only pro to have achieved a win while hosting a Full Tilt Online Poker Series event as only one other Full Tilt pro has done so. Erick Lindgren has won a FTOPS event that he was hosting as well.
Mueller would go into final table play second in chips just under Vito Roma. This would play to his advantage and help him stay in the game to make it to heads up play.
Mueller would face James ‘POKERPR0’ Campbell in heads up play during the tournament and would take seventy five hands before a winner would be determined. After a short while Mueller would gain a two to one chip lead and would never look back.
On the final hand POKERPR0’s A-5 would be no match for Mueller’s pocket sixes. the flop would be a gutshot for POKERPR0 and the turn and river would not help so he would out in second place leaving Mueller with the victory.
