The Main Event of the 2010 Borgata Winter Poker Open finished up recently in Atlantic City with top poker pros competing including Full Tilt Poker Pros Gavin Smith, Bill Gazes, Steve Brecher, Roy Winston and Jeff Madsen. The tournament created a prize pool of over $2.5 million dollars and it was Madsen who took home the first place win.

Full Tilt PokerThe Main Event had a buy-in of $3,500 and 766 players were competing for the top prize. the tournament took place over several days and Madsen was able to glide through the first days of the tournament. at the end of the second day he was the overall chip leader. When final table play began Madsen had over three million dollars in chips so he was in the perfect position to claim first place.

Madsen would move to the chip leader when play was seven-handed. He would go up against an opponent with A-K and he got a nut flush with the board and the chip lead was his. Madsen would continue to dominate and in the process he would knock out four of the final six players.

When heads up play began Madsen would face Sirous Jamshidi and over time Madsen earned a 2 to 1 chip lead. The final hand of the competition would see Madsen’s K-10 hold up against Jamshidi’s Q-2 which would earn him the victory.

Madsen has now earned over $3 million dollars during his short poker career. Madsen came onto the poker scene during the 2006 WSOP and managed to win two bracelets and he was the youngest player to win two bracelets during the same year. He is also a poker pro at Full Tilt Poker and can be found competing online at the large poker room.
