Event #17 saw the return of the 6-max re-buy tournament with a set buy-in of $300. The prize pool was a guaranteed $1 million but with 961 players purchasing 1795 re-buys and 663 add-ons the prize pool was raised to $1,022,700 which 120 players would share.

Cole South an instructor at the Cardrunners website was the tournament host. South has only been playing poker since 2005 but has already earned over $2 million in his short career due to his aggressive and loose playing style.

South was unable to finish in the money but a few of the sponsored poker pros at Full Tilt Poker did better. Jared Hamby “TheWacoKidd” finished in 113th place while Andrew Feldman, one of the newest players at Full Tilt, managed to finish in 48th place.

It took eleven hours of game play before the event was finished and when it got down to three way play the tournament became intense. All three players had similar chip stacks so all three would fight for a good while before one would fall.

Online player U_2Good4_Me went all in on the preflop with K-Q and was called by mralan2950 who has A-10. When U_2Good4_Me got a Queen on the flop it was all over for mralan2950 who just missed out on heads up play.

That would leave U_2Good4_Me and stevie444 to compete in heads up play with stevie444 behind in chips by around $2 million. It would take only just over an hour for U_2Good4_Me to claim the victory. U_2Good4_Me proved that a steady pace wins the race as he slowly began taking stevie444’s chip stack.

On the final hand stevie444 went all in preflop and was called by U_2Good4_Me who held 10-Q. stevie444 showed J-8 and again a Queen on the flop secured U_2Good4_Me’s victory and the first place prize.
