Full Tilt Poker Looking to Sign Tom "durrrr" Dwan
Aug 31, 2009
Tom “durrrr” Dwan is one of the best poker players around especially when it comes to online poker. Dwan has won millions of dollars competing at Full Tilt in the high stakes no limit hold’em and Pot limit Omaha and now the online poker room could be looking to sign the poker pro.
Dwan earned over $5 million at Full Tilt Poker in 2008 and this year he is participating in major online challenges against other poker pros. He is a staple when it comes to Full Tilt poker high stakes play and it is no wonder the poker room wants to sign him.
Howard Lederer, of Full Tilt, recently commented on Inside Deal about why Dwan isn’t signed at Full Tilt. He commented that he is sure Full Tilt would love to have ‘Dwan’ and he thinks it is just a matter of the two working out the deal and a fair price. Lederer went on to say that he doesn’t think anything is in the way of Dwan signing with Full Tilt except for both sides deciding to make it happen.
Dwan mostly plays online but he has been making a transition to live tournament play. He has won over $1 million in live tournament play including cashing out twice in the WSOP. He has also done well in World Poker Tour events and the European Poker Tour.
It will be interesting to see if Dwan signs with Full Tilt or if he continues to go solo. We may see Dwan working with another poker room in the future but my bet is he is just waiting on the right deal from Full Tilt to come along.
