Dwan Wins Latest Match of Durrrr Challenge
Sep 07, 2009
Many of us in the online poker world have been following Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan and his Durrrr Challenge. The challenge was created by Dwan and was accepted by a few poker pros with the first challenger being Patrik Antonius. Both have went back and forth claiming victories and the latest match up at Full Tilt Poker saw Durrrr taking the win.
The challenge will last over 50,000 and the two are far from completing the challenge. The two had not played in a few weeks but recently the high stakes boards at Full Tilt were hot with action between Dwan and Antonius.
Dwan was in the lead and could feel secure with the lead until the last few sessions when Antonius has gained the lead, though it is a small one. That lead grew even smaller after Dwan won the most recent match.
The two poker pros played for three hours at FullTiltPoker.net and four hundred and fifty eight hands were played. In the end Dwan managed to win $26k from Antonius, though it was not enough for Dwan to take back the lead.
The two have not completed even half the challenge so I am sure we will see the lead change again and again before it gets down to the wire and the players are fighting for the overall win. So far Dwan is behind by just under $40,000. A total of 23,197 hands have been played which means forty six percent of the challenge has been completed.
After facing Antonius, Dwan went on to play at the $300/$600 Pot Limit Omaha tables as well as the $500/$1000 NLHE tables at Full Tilt but his luck would not continue. Dwan found himself down $860,000 during that session most due to playing Urindanger.
