Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel was originally a tournament backgammon player for eight years, and then turned to playing the stock market. He then moved on to poker, coming in second in his first major tournament in the 1988 WSOP main event. He made it to the final table of the Championship Event in 1999 where he finished fourth. Seidel won his first bracelet in 1994 in the $5K Limit Hold’em event. In 2005, he made four final tables at the WSOP and won his seventh bracelet in the $2,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament.
Seidel’s total tournament winnings as of 2006 exceed $5,770,000.
Most of Seidel’s top finishes have been at the Bellagio or the WSOP. He is currently the only player on the Top 10 All-time money list who has won the majority of his tournament winnings in these two venues.
